L’éducation, l’expression de la question sociale et le travail social sont ancrés dans la société et dans les écoles. Les enfants et les adolescents ont des droits garantis par des lois spécifiques, telles que la LDB, la LEC et la Constitution fédérale de 1988. Cependant, ces droits ne sont pas toujours garantis, car les expressions de la question sociale affectent le domaine de l’éducation dans le contexte actuel, comme : l’abandon scolaire, les faibles performances scolaires, les problèmes de comportement, avec des attitudes agressives, le manque de limites, l’interférence dans le fonctionnement de l’école. Il s’agit de questions très complexes qui nécessitent une action et une intervention conjointes de différents professionnels : éducateurs, travailleurs sociaux, psychologues, conseil de tutelle, ministère public et, surtout, familles. Pour toutes ces raisons, le travail social doit être intégré dans le milieu scolaire. Leur travail professionnel permettra d’identifier les facteurs sociaux, culturels et économiques liés aux expressions de la question sociale qui affecte la société.
