Este livro contém a síntese e caraterização de nanopartículas de sílica hidrofóbicas utilizando o processo sol gel. Diferentes modificadores (sol de alumina, sol de zircónio, sol de titânio e hexameythyl disilizane) foram adicionados à sílica com diferentes percentagens para converter a sílica em materiais hidrofóbicos. Os efeitos destes modificadores na textura e nas características das nanopartículas de sílica foram investigados utilizando diferentes técnicas, tais como FESEM, TEM, FTIR, XRF, XRD, TGA e BET.
