The importance of students knowing how to express themselves in order to interact with the reality in which they live is fundamental: the school radio becomes a tool with multiple functionalities that offers the possibility of contributing to the integral development of the students. Through a real experience in the Andalusian public school, this work intends to transfer to its readers the necessary steps to be able to constitute a school radio with guarantees, with almost no costs and giving it the capacity to be sustainable in time. Learning through the airwaves means providing students with a rewarding experience in which families and the rest of the participating agents of the educational community can feel part of the various advances achieved in each phase of the project. The recognition of this initiative was reflected in the awarding of the XXVII Joaquín Guichot Prize, from the Department of Education of the Regional Government of Andalusia (Spain), to the project called 'RadioEscuela: investigar, expresarse y aprender a través de las ondas', whose authorship corresponds to the creator of this work, based precisely on the experience lived during the course of the same.
