The systematic observation of the pedagogical practice, allowed to determine that the main difficulties are in the insufficient knowledge that the students have about the historical background and general characteristics of the popular dance Cha-cha-chá, limited development when executing this dance, specifically its basic step, musical rhythm, figures and posture. It is proposed the inclusion of a system of activities that responds to the following scientific problem: How to contribute to the development of the popular dance Cha-cha-chá in fifth grade? The objective is to elaborate a system of activities directed to the development of the popular dance Cha-cha-chá in fifth grade students. The scientific novelty consists of the activities elaborated and structured in two stages that include theoretical and practical elements. Theoretical level methods were used: historical-logical, inductive-deductive, systemic-structural, analytical-synthetic and techniques: pedagogical test, observation, survey, interview and for mathematical processing the percentage calculation. The evaluation of the proposal showed that the system of activities is effective.
