Die Entwicklung erneuerbarer Energiequellen ist in letzter Zeit aufgrund der Energiekrise und der globalen Erwärmung auf großes Interesse gestoßen, da sie nicht in Konkurrenz zu den Anbauflächen für die Nahrungsmittelproduktion steht. Zuckerrohr-Biomasse ist eines der weltweit anfallenden Nebenprodukte der Lebensmittelindustrie, das vorbehandelt werden muss, um die energetische Verwertung (Biogas, Biomethan, Biowasserstoff) im Hinblick auf die Bioraffinerie-Verarbeitung zu untersuchen. Die Hydrothermolyse hat sich als eine der besten thermischen Vorbehandlungen erwiesen, die im Hinblick auf die Prozesssteuerung im Reaktor vor der Biogastechnologie noch intensiviert werden kann. Eine Optimierung der Vorbehandlung ist jedoch notwendig, um den biologischen Abbau von Zuckerrohrbagasse während der Hydrothermolyse zu überwachen und zu regulieren, um die Hemmung der anaeroben Vergärung zu verringern.
