Learners on a distance learning course hold study documents in their hands again after a long period of further education or training. After years of completing initial training, there are materials/learning documents on the table that need to be processed in a variety of ways. It is advantageous to have a solid basic knowledge and an education management system that can be used in a phase of further or continuing education.'Further training' refers to learning processes that involve maintaining current knowledge/'additional knowledge'. 'Continuing education' refers to learning processes that relate to higher qualification with academic education/ 'advanced knowledge'. The European Union prefers 'continuing education' as an educational measure. Distance learning helps to obtain education independently of space and time in a self-management, usually with supervision.
