Ya casi a finales de junio de 1938, en plena Guerra Civil, llega al pueblo de Villanueva de Castellón (ahora Castelló, provincia de Valencia) toda la dotación de carabineros que tenía que hacerse cargo de su Hospital. Entre ellos se encontraba el carabinero Morera. Un joven que vivía en Valencia con sus padres y que se había alistado en los carabineros.El carabinero Morera, sin saberlo, fue testigo de la historia local de este pueblo y del Hospital de Carabineros de Villanueva de Castellón (1938-1939). Gracias a sus recuerdos y a su generosidad al compartirlos con el autor, hemos podido recuperar la historia de este Hospital. Un Hospital de los mejores de la época tanto en recursos humanos como materiales. 10
