Nach Angaben des chilenischen Bildungsministeriums wurde im Laufe der Zeit immer häufiger ein sonderpädagogischer Förderbedarf im chilenischen Schulsystem festgestellt, was sich in der Aufstockung und dem Einsatz verschiedener (personeller, wirtschaftlicher und pädagogischer) Ressourcen widerspiegelt, um diesem Bedarf gerecht zu werden. Wenn man davon ausgeht, dass die Förderung durch die Familie in den ersten Lebensjahren einen Einfluss auf das Vorhandensein von SEN hat, kann man feststellen, dass durch die Verstärkung dieser Förderung die Zahl der Schüler mit SEN zurückgehen wird und die Arbeit sich auf den Menschen konzentrieren wird.
