L’opera di N.N. Dubitskaya è dedicata alla produzione di ceramica in Bielorussia durante l’età del ferro e l’alto medioevo (VII secolo a.C. - I millennio d.C.). Per la prima volta nell’archeologia bielorussa, una ricerca approfondita sullo studio della ceramica antica con l’uso dei metodi delle scienze naturali ha permesso di ricostruire la storia della ceramica antica in Bielorussia con molta più precisione. Particolare attenzione è rivolta agli schemi tecnici e tecnologici relativi alla selezione delle materie prime, alla composizione delle masse da modellare, alle condizioni di cottura. Gli esempi di ceramica di culture archeologiche etnicamente diverse mostrano l’esistenza di una continuità culturale e produttiva per tutto il periodo. Si considera la natura del processo di specializzazione della produzione di ceramica, il passaggio dalla produzione domestica a quella artigianale.
