Ce livre soutient que l’exceptionnalisme américain et l’eurasianisme ont engendré les principes idéologiques qui ont propulsé les intérêts géostratégiques de l’Union soviétique et des États-Unis dans la période d’après-guerre. La corrélation entre l’idéologie et la poursuite de certains objectifs géostratégiques a conduit à la création de mécanismes interventionnistes pour établir une gestion saine de l’ordre international dans l’après-guerre. Les éléments de l’exceptionnalisme américain, la politique d’endiguement, le plan Marshall et la doctrine Truman ont servi d’instruments pour gérer efficacement l’ordre international émergent de l’après-guerre. L’Union soviétique a soumis son appareil idéologique, guidé par une orientation eurasienne et la position du pays en tant que puissance intérieure , aux convenances politiques de la période d’après-guerre. La stratégie du front national a permis à Moscou d’acquérir le contrôle des systèmes politiques et économiques des nations d’Europe de l’Est dans le but ultime de consolider sa position géostratégique dans le scénario de l’après-guerre.
