Sie schaffen mit innovativen Produkten und Dienstleistungen neue Kundenerlebnisse, die das Leben der Kunden digitalisieren und vereinfachen. Die Innovationskraft, der technologische Vorsprung und die Flexibilität der FinTechs sind Wettbewerbsvorteile, die traditionelle Banken benötigen, um nachhaltig erfolgreich zu sein. Daher werden Unternehmenskäufe, Beteiligungen oder strategische Allianzen immer wichtiger. Banken und Investoren müssen einen geeigneten Unternehmenswertes für FinTech-Startups ermitteln und können traditionelle Unternehmensbewertungsverfahren aufgrund der Besonderheiten von FinTech-Startups nicht ausnahmslos sinnvoll anwenden.Eine mehrdimensional-balancierte Betrachtung bewertet ein FinTech-Startup nach einem ganzheitlichen Ansatz. Hierfür wird das Unternehmen aus einer externen und internen, einer zukünftigen und vergangenen sowie einer qualitativen und quantitativen Sichtweise betrachtet. Die externe Betrachtungsweise analysiert das Umfeld des FinTech-Startups mit Hilfe des Fünf-Kräfte-Modells nach Porter sowie einer Szenarioanalyse. Intern werden Erfolgsfaktoren von FinTechs in Bezug auf das Leistungsangebot und die Unternehmensstruktur ermittelt. Die Sicht in die Zukunft wird durch das Discounted Cashflow Verfahren nach dem WACC-Ansatz und durch die Venture Capital Methode unterstützt. Das DCF-Verfahren wird mit Hilfe einer Szenarioanalyse durchgeführt zur besseren Prognostizierung der Cashflows.
