These records offer tombstone inscriptions for 44 cemeteries located in Greene County, Tennessee, providing the names, relations, and dates of birth and death for former residents. A full-name index is given at the beginning of this work. This volume contains tombstone inscriptions for virtually every cemetery in Greene County, Tennessee. Because these records were compiled at the beginning of the 20th Century, tombstones mounted after the 1930s are not included in this volume. Although each tombstone differs, information includes[*When Available]: Name of Deceased, Date of Birth*, Date of Death, Name of Parents*, Military Service*, Place of Birth*, Name of Spouse*, Sentiments* [Faithful Unto Death, She hath done what she could, etc.], Occupation.* Cemeteries Included: Amerine Graveyard, Amity, Bersheby, Burgner, Burnett Chapel, Cedar Grove, Cedar Hill, Cedar Creek, Chucky, Cove Creek, Ebenezer, Gethsemanea, Greenewood, Haire, Harrison, Hermon, Meadow Creek, Monument Hill, Mountain View, Mt. Since these records were typed on poor machines by people who did not type well either or read by persons not always sure of the older handwritten material, the results are often less than perfect. ...
