Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 1,3, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, 21 Quellen im Literaturverzeichnis, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Im Laufe dieser Arbeit tausche ich meine Rolle der Studentin immer wieder mit der eines Detektivs. Das Verb tihten wird bis in den kleinsten Winkel beleuchtet; ihm wird eine Geschichte gegeben. Indizien in Form von Belegstellen werden aus der Mittelhochdeutschen Begriffsdatenbank zusammengestellt, um aus ihnen Schlüsse bzgl. der Verwendungsweise zu ziehen. Dabei wird immer wieder ein Bezug zu der Art und Weise hergestellt, wie Verfasser im Mittelalter gearbeitet haben und wie Verfasserschaft zur damaligen Zeit definiert wurde. Abschließend wird das Konzept von tihten mit unserem nhd. Verb dichten verglichen. In dieser Arbeit wird semasiologisch vorgegangen; von dem sprachlichen Ausdruck tihten wird nach der Bedeutung gefragt. Manche Punkte müssen hypothetisch bleiben, da selbst der beste Detektiv manchmal nicht genug Indizien findet.
