Stress and Telomere Biology is the latest emerging area of research gaining more attention after the recent understanding about the importance of Telomeres in context of Ageing. Stressful events are rising due to myriad reasons in the today’s fast developing world and strenuous lifestyles. Sleep which comprises of more than one third part of the lifespan of the individual is conceptually complex to understand and is becoming nowadays, a common man’s dream. Insufficient Daily Sleep has been proposed to be the culprit behind the increasing events of various illnesses and general poor health status. The depth of the damage to individual health is being explored still by understanding the molecular basis of the causes behind these illnesses. 'Telomere' is one of the broad areas in the Molecular Biology of this research.In the view of all this, the research presented here has examined 'Sleep' in reference to the Telomere Biology. This is the first Study in India to investigate the proposed associationStress is an interdisciplinary concept and understanding health consequences of Stress requires integrative approach. Stress is also defined as the real or perceived imbalance between environmental demands required for survival and an individual’s capacity to adapt to these requirements.
