Author Patricia Prevosti used her personal experience as a reading specialist and mom to a child with dyslexia in creating this fictional story. Her goal is to allow teachers in classrooms around the world an opportunity to share that a story that demonstrates how we all learn differently. It should encourage children to not give up, but instead, to find a way to learn that fits their needs. The story also shows the effects of bullying and how similar situations can be handled.
