Si bien este libro recoge las experiencias autorreferenciales del autor cuando niño, que vivió su infancia a fines de los cuarenta y principios de los cincuenta, nos relata lo que han vivido decenas de miles de niños de esa época. Es una pincelada de ingenuidad y revelaciones que transcurre en forma amena y hasta divertida por la transparencia de las situaciones vividas.Si bien las historias están ambientadas en una determinada ciudad y un determinado barrio, los ocasionales lectores, de una edad suficiente como para reconocer esa etapa de la vida, se verán reflejados, sin lugar a dudas, en las andanzas del personaje que, a la vez es quien relata, ya de viejo, esas experiencias. Los otros, los jóvenes y niños que lleguen a leer estas páginas seguramente se verán sorprendidos por las características de una vida que ya no existe, al menos en los barrios de las grandes ciudades.Ser niño es eso, vivir sin filtros lo que la vida les depara, sin los velos del que dirán ni las limitaciones del estatus que la sociedad les impone por su clase, sexo u origen étnico. Por suerte la Argentina de la época en que se sitúan los relatos de este libro permitió, a los niños que la vivieron, llevar en su corazón el perfume de la amistad y la hermandad solidaria. 10
