My granddaughter, Mia Sheckleford, made her first trip to Jamaica, the homeland of her parents, when she was 3 years old, and had traveled there twice before she turned 4. Mia Goes to Jamaica recaptures some of the experiences she had in Jamaica, and also introduces the reader to some of the other things found in Jamaica.Simultaneously, Mia Goes to Jamaica teaches the Alphabet to the younger readers, with each letter representing something that is found in that Island Paradise. My wife Carol used all of her creative juices, combined with a Love without Limits for Mia, to come up with the artistic backdrop for each letter, and we were fortunate enough to team up with a very talented young Illustrator from the Philippines, Vladimir Cebu, who brought the concept for each letter to life with the dynamite scene creation for each one.We hope you enjoy reading this book, and/or reading it to/with your little ones, as much as we enjoyed creating it for you! - Warren “Poppa” Landrum
